Yes, we can! Academic Freedom Alliance: A model of organizational response to academic censorship

Censorship of scholars suppresses academic freedom. In this essay, we describe how academic communiPes can unite to defend academic freedom. We present the story of the Academic Freedom Alliance—a single-cause, non-parPsan organizaPon dedicated to the protecPon of academic freedom—as an example of an organizaPonal response to censorship and the suppression of scholarship. This contribuPon is based on two talks presented at the conference Censorship in the Sciences: Interdisciplinary Perspectives.
